Under the tent
The soft box had to wait........ Last night the neighbors had there annual pig roast. I asked if I could take pics, of course. Well I treated it pretty much like a real job. I mean hey why not? Under the tent was a breeze! I mounted the SB-800 on a nano clamp mounted it on the center pole pointed to the ceiling, snapped on the SU-800 BINGO! Set & forget! Even got some great shots with the flash in frame, no problem So why no heads, well I didn't ask every one if I could post yet. Hey they where drinking. I'll ask in the morning! OCL Strobist info: SB-800 24mm 1/64 pwr CLS fired via SU-800 Clamped to the center pole of tent, pointed straight up. D700 50mm f1.4@2.2 1/125 ISO 1000 Manual focus

This is a SOOC Mom didn't like her hair on this one It's on the wall and looks good to me. Well that's how she looks every day
scrappy street urchinmessy hair! I guess the hair does look nicer here.........this gives me another reason to go out and shoot anyway :~) Oh yea there seams to be arashgame going around Flickr. Another tag, grumble grumble...... So it's 5 things I like, hate um something or other......hmmm what the heck was it now? Hold on..... OK found it 1) What you like to photograph the most; 2) What you like to photograph the least; 3) Your photography peeves; 4) What you admire the most from other photographers; 5) What you’d like to learn to photograph better. #1 My kids, other kids. I love the energy and spontaneous smiles from children. I guess it's really candids if you want a genre. #2 Shooting in the cold! I hate to shoot in the cold especially if it's raining! Phoey! #3 I don't like pictures that are slightly crooked! (yes I'm guilty of it too!) #4 SOOC shots. I like the PP my picks but not when there are 500 pics to look through and have to hand correct stupid stuff like CROOKED ones! #5 Sharper pictures! Too many of my eyes are just slightly out of focus. So the answer is eyes, sharper eyes! That and line level seriously the level thing makes me nuts This is one long ass description! are you still awake? I think I feel asleep writing this, TWICE! Just when you though the torture would stop I give you Strobist info SB-900 right 24mm into Soft box 1/8 pwr 1/3 CTO gel CLS fired via SU-800 reflector clamped to side of Soft box to pick up IR signal D700 105mm @f4 1/200 ISO 200 Holy crap are you still reading this rambling?! Or did you skip to the bottom? Well hell I don't blame you!Strobist info-Corrina for the Wall
CLS stands for "creative lighting system" Nikon's off camera firing solution. The "Creative" part is trying to get it to fire. Here you see a reflector on the side of the soft box. This is for the
stupidsensor to pick up the IR signal from the SU-800 firing unit. Set up for this shotThings are looking up
Still in intensive care but stable condition, Uncle Mike is talking more and the color has come back in his face. A very uncooperative patient, well that's probably a good sign, he is slowly showing signs of his old self. We are all trying to have a positive attitude. I would like to thank every one for there positive thoughts, and prayers! Thank you! It really does mean a lot.

Before you go beating me up, remember this was an out take..... I just can't believe I didn't notice the shirt juxtaposed against the halo the first time! The halo light was spilling onto her face you can see the OCL set up here if your interested...
