Seems like a dream (she's) got me hypnotized ~ Fleetwood Mac A rare appearance of my beautiful wife Kate! I have to thank all my Flickr friends for all your support :~) I have a bunch of pics Explored. Thanks everyone! This one in particular makes me happy...... It was taken by my Daughter Corrina (big happy proud Dad smile) Now it seam I have been TAGGED! Again! Even though I been there done that....... Now I need to think of ten new things to say, so let's see 1) I have a younger brother named John, my Dads name, sometimes people called me John :~) 2) I grew up in the Restaurant business and worked in the field for years. Couldn't take the heat so.... 3) ........I got out of the kitchen! I went into the Geekiest thing I could find: Electronics 4) I
hardly workwork hard as an on the road technician. I'm home most nights but I could travel several hours just to one job. 5) I have a fear of amusement park rides. You have to understand I work in the maintenance field.... 6) I love my Sirius satellite radio. 7) I'm a total gear head :P Love new stuff particularly home made MODs 8) Strobist.com and the companion group sucked me into Flickr! Excellent web site, learned all strobe skills there ;~) 9) Love taken pictures! (Duh!) I am now seriously doing this as a business so I can make some "Mulla" $$$ So I can buy more gear! I'm too old to worry about my "art" I need to sell out Now! 10) I will leave you with this bit of advise Dorothy; If you ever find yourself lost out there on the internet, just remember, close your windows and click your mouse three times, and type in your address bar there's no place like 192.168.1.1 OK I will not tag any one back as I already have done so, and a bunch of you scoundrels never responded! We all know who you are and were coming after you!Nucleosynthesis it's a Kicker!
I couldn't resist a picture in the warm sunlight! OK what do you do if your already at ISO 200. You only got a 50mm and you really want to shoot at 1.4 to blur the BG? Don't say add a ND filter, stop down or anything like that! I don't want to be bogged down by facts I want to make a point! Well given that there no other options (let's just go with that)......... here's another example of a high speed sync situation! Alright this next bit is for all the "light" heads you know who you are :P Strobist info: SB-900 right 1/3 CTO gel 1/16 @105mm 5' away on a sexy light stand,my wife Kate ;~) left: Kicker 92,955,820.5 miles nucleosynthesis SB-900 fired via CLS from the pop up Nucleosynthesis fired by the enormous gravitational fusion of hydrogen into helium in a giant vacuum
Uncle Earl
One of a kind, my Uncle Earl! Visiting Family this weekend and I was able to snap this candid of my favorite Uncle. The deck is not that big so the 85 would be a bit much, so I pulled the 50 out of my back pocket..... Gotta love the little 50mm, and @1.4 it throws the BG out nicely :~)
Strobist info:Natural light only for Uncle Earl! He ain't putting up with strobes and nonsense! The Junk in my trunk
Junk Mobile Do you want to go back to the pretty lights or stare at the wall?
Will shoot food
LMV Photography "have camera will travel" Start to finish this took 58 mins. I put one hour on the parking meter. I had 2 minutes to spare! Hah! One hour isn't that bad considering I had to scout a local, go back two blocks to the car. Gather all the junk, drag it over, setup, break down and still beat the Philadelphia Parking Authority. Mean while as I playing desperate, no more than 20 yards from me was a homeless guy :~( I didn't realize it until I was doing the set up shots. I was ....well 20 yards away taking the shot and I could see him moving around under the covers, Well yes I had to take a picture of it or you wouldn't believe me..... Strobist info: SB-900 20mm 1/64 into soft box 1/3 CTO gel 6' away 3 o'clock SB-800 105mm 1/32 CTB 9' away back right 2 o'clock D700 85mm f1.4@1.4 ISO 2000 1/200 CLS fired via SU-800

Ops! Forgot to set permissions! Couldn't figure out why the link wasn't working! Duh! (what a dumb ass) So this was the set up shot...... *Happy Labor Day everyone!* Homeless guy sleeping the whole time Secret CLS extender under patent The softbox handles the wind by the water front much better than umbrellas! I have to say it was very solid. There is an extra stand in this blurry pic. It was used to hold my hat where I would stand so I could focus on something. Strobist info: Set up for this shot
David by the tree
Who else is tweeting? Let me know @louisonflickr
I love weeping willows, they make a great back drop.
What I learned on this shoot with my son Dave;
1. I need ballast for my stands, busted up two umbrellas
2. It's hard to overcome strong sun light with little strobes
3. I need a big reflector
4. The Tamron 180mm takes nice portraits
5. It's a long ride to the end of Delaware
Strobist info:
SB-900 right 2' away 24mm @ full power through a busted shoot through umbrella
SB-800 left 2' away 24mm(?) @ full power through another busted umbrella
CLS fired via SU-800 which BTW worked flawlessly even in this strong sun light :~)A day at the river

The street lamp was so bright I dropped down to ISO 640 and still had too much for my taste. It turned out to be the key light and the flash was a high light. Still I was OK with the out come considering it only took 10 min Set up info for this shot
What is this thing any way? or I will hunt you down!
105mm stacked with a 2X tele for a 210mm equivalent What the heck is this thing any way? Looks like a butterfly sucking on the nectar but also looks like a moth too.... The bad news, Some Contemptuous Scoundrel has stolen my hat! I will find you and hunt you down! I have a suspension who did it too! The good news, I might actually have a paying client :D I have set up a professional photography session in October! Stay tuned! PS I know where you live and I'm coming to get you!!!
Purring like a kitten
That's how my Mac is running right now. I just got Snow Leopard I have NOT installed it yet. I don't need drama on a school night! Save that for the weekend. LightRoom 2.5 is purring especially since I turned on 64bit :~) We have a bunch of these glass knickknacks laying around. Last time it was the dog and the clock. This is a cheap shot really. I been there done that. Oh well it's quick and easy like bringing home take out for dinner. Just being lazy :P (basically expect more!)
