Kate is a High School Senior Just in case I confused anyone :P I didn't have the luxury of taking a set up shot really, since this was an actual client I didn't think it appropriate... I do however want to document the lighting set up for my own reference and in case anyone else was interested.... Shots below courtesy of this guy Miller for MVP! View On Black
Kate, after Post
View On Black Figured I give you guys (and my eyes) a B&W break! I do love Silver Efex Pro software and it's a keeper. This was from my portrait session I did back in February. Testing yet more software. This time it's Portraiture 2. For smothing out skin tones. It works really well and is easy to use, BUT with one big draw back; if the subject has brown eyes and shadow in the skin tone it masks the eyes and ultimately softens them. I was able to adjust it most of the time, except for one person. No mater what I did I couldn't get her skin evened out and not soften the eyes. Further testing with brown eyes is needed........stay tuned Anyway if you want to compare check out this one I posted a few weeks back
Another great senior!
So this the geriatric version LOL! Looking for the pretty girl? What to see a Great Shot? It's worth it, trust me! This is my friend Matt who asked me to take his picture for Facebook. He was a bit surprised when I showed up with all the gear! The Strobist info was simple SB-900 through a shoot through umbrella left 35mm (forget power setting duh!) white reflector on the right black sheet as BG CLS fired via built in pop up D700 85mm ƒ1.4@ƒ2 ISO200 1/500 (to cut back on the light shining through the sheet from window) So more shots of Kate coming up stay tuned..... I would like to thank Bodyinmotion for the inspiration for this shot. Thanks Keren! (sshh don't tell anyone, your version is better :~) Details about this on my blog. No worries there's a short version up there, but the the long version is better. Since I'll be out of commission for a while, and the weather so nice, I decided to shoot some bokeh Looking for some Strobist info?
