Our local school's string band had the pleasure of working with the very talented Martha Mooke! Martha Mooke is a electric Violinist. She graced us with one of her composures today! The students actually had the chance to collaborated with Martha and play with her on stage. It was a real thrill for all the students, my daughter included :) Oh and I had time to take a Strobist setup shot too!

It's me! Trying out the new lantern I bought, saw the Strobist do it on the Flash bus tour. I think it's going to solve shooting in high and dark ceiling venues for me. It's very delicate, glad i bought three of them. If it works out I will buy a "real" one that's more durable.... Strobist info: SB-900 with the diffuser on (that sets the zoom to 17mm) 1/128 power just right and inside a white chinese lantern attached to a white door D700 85mm ƒ1.4@2.8 ISO 800 1/250

The set up for this shot Yes I know the lantern is an old trick, I just learned about it on the Flash bus tour. I'm sure it's going to be a great solution when shooting in venues that have very high and dark ceilings

String Concert set up
I was asked to do a fundraiser photo shoot for the local String band! This was a practice set up. I'm going to move the BG so the light part is more centered behind the subject. Strobist info: SB-900 17mm with diffuser on 1/16 power in a softbox cam left at a 45 deg angle SB-900 snooted on to the bg from the right 1/16 power SB-800 Gridded high back right 1/128

Strings Fundraiser
Did a fundraiser last week to support our local String band. The students were a joy to photograph! The older members of the group are really good too! This young man plays with a quartette, and they are available for events. If your in the Philadelphia area and would like to walk down the isle with class message me!
